Literature Text
A Man stood by the sea
Windswept and broken,
But glorious and free
With words to be spoken
“I’ve lived a full life
With all my time behind me
I’ve seen hardness and strife
But always knew who I’d be
A man among men
All others I have awed
I’ve other thrown kings
And stood beside God
I’ve done all I can
With my strength and my spine
Like no other man
And all the world was mine”
All this he shouted to the sea
But the waves, they rolled eternally
“I’v loved with all my heart
A woman that I knew
Of my soul she was a part
I knew she loved me too
I felt the strongest feelings
A man could ever know
Every day I knew her kiss
And all the love we could show
One day it all would end
My love with her life
And every day I would spend
Thinking of my wife”
All this he shouted to the sea
But the waves they rolled eternally
“Now it all is over
My life and my line
All I apprehended
Are gone all through time
Everything that I could do
Through glory and through pain
Gone, it all fell through
And all the worlds the same
But know now as time has passed
My glory they will laud
I was the man who lived and loved
And stood beside God”
All this he shouted at the sea
But the waves, they rolled eternally
Windswept and broken,
But glorious and free
With words to be spoken
“I’ve lived a full life

This House Is Sinking
This house is
Sinking.
An
Ocean
Of lost life.
A busy silence
Floods
The canals.
Unspoken words
Seep
In broken ears.
Lost.
Wade
Through the hallways.
Drown
In empty air.
Reach
For the surface.
Gasping.
Grasping.
Literature
From End To End
when your mouth
loses its shape
against mine
the together, in which
they sing to the dead within,
tightens the dreamwire between us
and we step
one toe's worth of time,
a less-breath, closer
to each other, toward them
and the invisible away
tucked behind its white wall of noise
you remind me how love sounds
in a whisper, as involuntary
as a planet's struggle
to rein its own systems in,
while spinning an impossible axis,
nesting a break in the hostile continuum
and it sounds lonely, but lovely,
as one startled toe's worth of time
forgets to breathe and bleed
from end to end, forgets
to count itself down, so lovely alive
once dreaming agains
