You are not alone
When the bomb blasts echo in the night
And guns fire in the streets
You are not alone
When the pain clouds your mind
And good men fall to the ground
You are not alone
When hatred makes its mark
And evil comes to bear
We are with you
We are with you in the night
We are with you in the streets
We are with you in the stadiums
In the seats filled with blood
We are with you in the countries
In nations far and wide
From across oceans
From across mountains
And miles of uncharted ground
If our backs our broken, if our hearts are heavy
If the way is lined with knives
We will come
We will come in the cold of the winter
Across any obstacles
And in the darkness of the night
Know the sun only ever sets
So that it may rise again
So we will stand beside you
Until the dawn is shining down
The chains will be broken
The wounds will be healed
And hatred will meet its end
The world is standing with you
Shouting high and loud
That evil will never triumph
When good men stand their ground
When the bomb blasts echo in the night
And guns fire in the streets
You are not alone
When the pain clouds your mind
And good men fall to the ground
You are not alone
When hatred makes its mark
And evil comes to bear
We are with you

Starting Over
The elevator took them to the basement of the hospital, and she followed the orderly left through the open doors and down the pale green hallway. He was speaking, but she found the hum of the overhead fluorescent lights and the exquisite clarity of her heels striking a staccato rhythm against the linoleum floor distracted her, and she missed most of what he said.
"...not uncommon for the initial emotional response to be overwhelming, but you'll find the dampeners will help balance it out if it gets too much. You'll find a comfortable level once you learn to control it..."
A set of double door swung open in anticipation of their approach, an

The Visitor
Two weeks ago, early spring flourished in my garden – light, fresh and free, whilst at the same time a rogue spring wind caught my big knickers drying on the clothesline, and sent them flapping down the road to Hastings. Why Hastings I wondered? It was close to the scene of a historic battle, its true, but underwear generally has no interest in that sort of thing. However, it also had the lure of its sunny beach disposition, where no doubt many a pair of big pants or knickers have lain? Hmm. If the latter notion was correct, maybe the pants were just off to find some quality leisure time but this was not the case. I figured it out prett

Silver light upon the sea
Sharp as scales, they slit the
Morning sun open -
Like a yolk it bleeds, ichor
Spilled thoughtlessly;
Smearing the fish belly white
Morning with a splatter of life.
Golden light upon the sea
Warm as palms, they stroke the
Turbulent blue -
Like a cat it purrs, star-chilled waves
Licking shores;
Tabby pelt flecked with shell white
And the gulls sing once more.
